「林來瘋」何時再現？這個問題在林書豪膝傷之後一再被提起，本季他的表現雖然不如尼克時，令人為之瘋狂，但也算中規中矩，季後賽將近，美國媒體《Huffpost sports》的專欄作家比爾(Jonathan Brill)則認為，他現在的表現比尼克時期更成熟、更有價值。
林書豪總是不被看好，被下放發展聯盟，效力伊利海鷹隊繳出大三元的成績單，讓尼克將他召回，儘管在板凳深處得不到青睞，但當主力控球一個個傷退，他把握住機會破繭而出，掀起一波波高潮，「林來瘋」席捲全球，各大媒體爭相報導，攻佔多數體育版面。
本季轉戰火箭，起初也被外界認為太過年輕，恐會被痛宰，但賽季結束，順利在競爭激烈的西區聯盟突圍，以第八種子之姿挺進季後賽，即便大多數人仍認為與雷霆的系列戰，會遭到狂風暴雨般的肆虐，但「林來瘋」是否於季後賽掀起激情？再度成為討論話題。
《Huffpost Sport》的專欄作家比爾撰文，比較林書豪在尼克、火箭兩支隊伍時期的表現，他觀察阿豪本季雖然得分不像上季，有戲劇般的爆炸性演出，但明顯降低失誤率、傳球更加犀利，防守技巧也有進步，讓他的籃板數有些微提升，「林書豪在技巧上的進步，讓他成為球隊重要的角色。」
「林書豪現在是更出色的職業籃球員，比在尼克時瘋狂的那幾周要有價值。」比爾說，「林來瘋不是籃球，而是屬於運動市場、競賽和媒體。」他認為，林來瘋有可能會再上演，不過不會是尼克時期的那種型式。■ 新聞專輯／林書豪旋風
